How do I transfer funds from Cash Balance into a portfolio?

You can invest the money in your Cash Balance into any Syfe portfolio at any time. 

  1. Login to the Syfe app 
  2. Select “Cash Balance”
  3. Select “Transfer” 
  4. Select “My Portfolios”
  5. Choose “Transfer to” portfolio 
  6. Tap the currency tag next to the amount to choose which balance to transfer from (HKD or USD).
  7. Enter the amount, or tap "MAX" for the full balance.
  8. Click “Continue” to confirm 

You will receive a push notification and email once Syfe receives your request.

 

 

Note:

  • Check before you confirm. A transfer from your Cash Balance to a portfolio cannot be cancelled once confirmed, so make sure the portfolio, currency, and amount are correct.
  • One portfolio at a time. Each transfer goes to a single portfolio. To fund more than one, repeat the steps for each.
  • No fee. Transferring from your Cash Balance into a portfolio is free.
  • When it's invested. Transfers before 9:00 AM HKT on a business day are usually processed the same day; after that, or on weekends and public holidays, the next business day. The amount then shows in your portfolio, but can take a few business days to be fully invested and reflected in its value, depending on the portfolio.
  • Different currencies. HKD and USD are separate balances. If the portfolio is priced in a different currency, we convert automatically at prevailing market rates when processing the transfer, at a preferential spread of around 0.10%–0.13% (versus roughly 0.3%–0.5% typically charged by banks).
